I'm not pychic..or am I??!!
I know I haven't blogged in approximately two years but oh how things have changed. I couldn't resist when I saw this lovely little article in the SL Trib here.
Hmmm..everything is not so rosy and "bubbly" in the SLC anymore. Thanks to my husband, we are 800 miles away and I couldn't be happier. As my 2 year old says.. Come on Dude..Even to a simpleton like me without an economic degree I saw the train wreck coming. Construction slows, job loss and thanks to people trying to keep up with the Jones' that's a recipe for disaster. I did not foresee that mortgage crisis or the stock market downturn, but things don't always stay stable. Housing equity does NOT rise in double digits forever. So...what did we learn here? I am thankful we are still renting and didn't buy into the interest only BS. The funny thing is.. in 10 years, this whole mess will be behind us.. and people will still be making thoughtless purchases and trying to "one up" their neighbors. And either the government or the church will be there to bail them out...AGAIN.
